Computer security has become the primary concern of all international companies, which is why there are teams all over the world specializing in website security. Recently a researcher from the Wordfence site named Mark Maunder detailed the steps of a great phishing scam that I will present to you in order to be careful and warn your friends.
Today, I am posting this article to warn you about a new Gmail scam that obtains your personal information from your Gmail account .
So if you have a Gmail account and if you have friends who use this famous email, I ask you to read this article and share it with your friends to make them aware of this new scam on Gmail.
- The scam begins by receiving an email from one of your contacts who is already contaminated;
- The E-mail you receive contains an image form of an attachment to download;
- So for you, as long as you receive this email from one of your contacts, you will download the image;
- By downloading this image, you will be redirected to a page that looks like Google Drive (Google's storage service);
- By clicking again on the image you will be redirected to the Gmail homepage (as if you are disconnected);
- Then there you will be asked to connect to view the image;
- So when trying to connect, all your data and even the password will be transferred to the hacker;
- There your account will be hacked, and then the operation is repeated with all your contacts and so on.
Precaution to take :
- Never click on an attachment or a link that you receive from an email whose source you do not know;
- If you receive an email that contains an attachment or a link from one of your friends, and if you click on the link, then you are asked to enter your personal data or to log in again, there you will have to close the page directly and log out of your account, then clean up your PC and contact the friend to verify the origin of the email.
