Like its peers, Canada urges its citizens to get vaccinated to protect themselves from this evil of the century. Thus, in order to ensure that an individual is indeed vaccinated against COVID-19, a vaccine passport is allocated and gives access to certain places and the practice of certain activities .

What are the different ways to show proof of vaccination?
There are now 3 different ways to show proof of vaccination in Canada. There are :
- The presentation in paper format . After vaccination, an email will be sent to your mailbox. All you have to do is upload the proof of vaccination (QR code). If you cannot find this email, go directly to the self-service portal to download it. Once this file is downloaded, print it and keep it with you at all times.
- The presentation in PDF format. You use this method if the previous one seems restrictive to you. It consists of putting the QR code received by email or downloading from the self-service portal on the screen of your smartphone and presenting it if necessary.
- Use of the VaxiCode app. VaxiCode is an electronic pass that certifies that the holder is vaccinated against COVID-19. This application only contains the personal information that is in the QR code. It is simply the first and last name, date of birth and vaccinations received and constitutes electronic proof of vaccination. This application is available today for Android and iOS systems.
How to download the Québec vaccine passport for iOS and Android?
Downloading the Québec vaccine passport may seem complicated for some, especially those who are not used to new technologies. Given the importance of this device, we have decided to show you the steps to follow to install the Vaxicode application on a smartphone.
Download and install VaxiCode on iOS
- On your smartphone, go to App Store .
- In the App Store search bar, type VaxiCode.
- You will find a yellow icon with a syringe, a lily flower in the right corner and a vial. Then you need to tap Install to download the app.
- Once the download is complete, the installation starts automatically. The startup wizard will ask for permission to access your smartphone's camera. You must then click on “Add existing vaccination proof” and follow the instructions. You can take the photo of the QR code, download it from the self-service portal or either choose it from your phone if you have taken a photo of it before.
Download and install VaxiCode on Android
- Select Play Store from your apps available on your smartphone.
- In the Play Store search bar, type “VaxiCode”.
- A yellow logo with a lily flower in the right corner, a syringe and a vial appears. Then you need to tap Install to download the app.
- As soon as the download is complete, the app will install itself. You just have to press "Open".
- The application opens immediately. Now press "Open".
- Then you have to click on “Give permission”.
- The app setup wizard will ask for permission to access your camera.
- Then click on “Enable automatic updates”.
- Now tap on “Add Evidence”.
- Scan your electronic proof of vaccination.
- The installation wizard will ask you for your year of birth. Enter the information in the bar.
- Finally, press "Save" and you're done.
